What payment methods does Crowded support?
Crowded offers several ways to send payments: Crowded Cards (Admin and Expense), standard ACH, same-day ACH, wire transfer, check, and Send to Card. You can choose whichever method best fits your needs and timeline.
How long does it take for payments to arrive?
It depends on the method you choose. Card payments typically take 1โ2 business days. Standard ACH can take 1โ5 business days. Same-day ACH processes the same day if sent before 3:00 PM EST. Wire transfers generally settle in real time during business hours. Checks arrive within 7โ10 business days. Send to Card is nearly instant, usually within an hour.
How much does each payment method cost?
Making a payment with Crowded Cards is free ($0). Standard ACH is $2.49 per transfer. Same-day ACH is 1% of the transfer amount ($5 min / $25 max). Wire transfers are $27 each. Checks cost $7.50 each. Send to Card is 1% + $15 per transfer.
What's the difference between Admin Cards and Expense Cards?
Admin Cards are tied to the primary checking account balance and are best for larger purchases or admin-related spending. Expense Cards are designed for team members like committee chairs or team leads who need to pay for costs tied to a specific role or project.
When should I use a wire transfer instead of ACH?
Wire transfers are best for large payments or when speed is critical โ funds generally settle in real time during business hours. ACH is a more cost-effective option for routine or smaller payments where a 1โ5 business day window is acceptable.
Can I send payments to someone outside the U.S.?
Most payment methods on Crowded are domestic only. However, Crowded Card payments and Send to Card do support international payments to Visa and Mastercard cards.
What is Bill Pay?
Bill Pay is an upcoming feature that will let you capture and process bills automatically, pay using flexible payment methods, and track all your payments in one place.
How do I send an ACH payment?
Log in to Crowded, click “Move Money” and select “Send Funds,” choose or add a recipient, enter the amount, select standard or same-day ACH, and follow the prompts to finish.
