Why should a Boy Scout or Cub Scout troop use Crowded?
Crowded is a financial platform that offers Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops an easy way to collect, spend and manage money online.
Boy Scouts are constantly collecting money – badges, events, trips, donation drives, membership fees, and more. Using Crowded to collect these funds is safe, easy and trackable.
When the scouts are selling concessions, they can accept cash and mobile point-of-sale payments with a smartphone, and these funds will go directly into their troop bank account.
When the Boy Scout troop needs to spend, they can spend from the same place where they collect. The Troop treasurer can issue digital debit cards as needed to members to spend with budgeted amounts.
How is Crowded different from Venmo or Paypal?
With collecting with Crowded, you can avoid constantly transferring funds between payment apps and banks to access your group’s money. Utilizing embedded finances, Crowded enables your group to bank, collect, and spend with just one platform.
What's the difference between Crowded and Cheddar Up?
Cheddar Up provides a great way to collect payments online, but that’s where it ends. Once you collect funds through Cheddar Up, you have to withdraw it to a bank account to use the funds.
Crowded offers online payment collection, like Cheddar Up, but also provides modern banking services within the app. You can spend the collected funds, track payments, and use Crowded Rewards to raise extra funds for your group!
Crowded is also cheaper. Cheddar Up charges a 3.59% + $0.59 credit card fee while Crowded charges only 2.95%.
Can Crowded assist Boy or Cub Scout troops with annual tax filings?
- Filing of Form 990
- Support for tax and group exemption processes
- EIN setup and upkeep
- State-level tax exemption compliance
Is Crowded free?
Crowded accounts are free to set up – we have no minimum balances or subscription fees.
We do charge for certain actions and services on our platform. View our full fee schedule here.
