How to Order a Checkbook

Learn how to order a checkbook for your Crowded checking account: find your account details, customize your checks and order from four printers.

Organizations using Crowded can order printed checks for your checking account from any major check printer – and add your own logo and design! All you need is your account number, routing number, and your organization’s legal name and address. This guide shows where to find those details, how to customize your checks, and step-by-step ordering instructions for four printers.

Please note: Crowded doesn’t sell or print checkbooks. Ordering checks is something your organization does directly with the printer you choose. Crowded isn’t responsible for errors on printed checks, print quality, delivery, or checks that can’t be processed because of incorrect or incomplete details.

Find your account details in Crowded

Your account number, routing number, legal name and mailing address exactly as they appear in Crowded are the key to valid checks. Find and copy them exactly, because a wrong digit means your checks won’t clear.

Find your account and routing numbers in Crowded

  1. Log in to Crowded here
  2. Click on Accounts on the sidebar, and then click on the Primary Checking Account
  3. There, under Account Details, you’ll see
    • Account Number
    • Account Name
    • Routing Number
  4. Copy the name and numbers exactly as shown by clicking the copy symbol and paste it into the corresponding fields
  5. If the platform asks for account type, select “Checking”

Tip: Keep this window open in one tab while you place your order on the printer’s website — you’ll be copying and pasting between the two.

Order and Customize your checks

Review the following providers for producing a checkbook for your Crowded account. Each suggested printer lets you choose a design and personalize the details. Options vary by printer, but these are the common ones.

Before you order

  • Check every digit. Compare the routing and account numbers on your proof against Crowded before you pay.
  • Start with a small order. Write one check from the new batch and confirm it clears before you order in bulk.
  • Keep checks secure. Store blank checks in a locked place, and update your records when officers or treasurers change.
  • Prefer not to print? You can send a check directly from Crowded, and Crowded prints and mails it for you.
